Savannah Celtic FC offers the only full time Club Soccer option on Wilmington Island and Tybee Island. SCFC will run a branch of its very successful MICRO PROGRAM on the northeast end of Wilmington Island. Teams will practice 1x during the week on the island and play ALL games on the island. The field is called The Abolt Obrien Soccer Field, you can find a map by clicking the link. Be sure when you are registering that you let us know on the ‘team request’ section that you would like to play on Wilmington Island.
ABOUT
Micro players (U4, U5, U6, U7, U8) make up the largest number of participants in US soccer. Because this is entry level for a lot of children, Savannah Celtic views this program as the grassroots of the club. To ensure players develop a love for the ’beautiful game’, we make sure it is run in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Practices are geared towards individual skill and coordination development.
COST
The program fee for the Micro Program is $75 for nearly 3 months of soccer action. This includes a practice shirt as well as a gameday shirt.
Older players (U8) will also participate in our end of the season tournament for an additional $10. The tournament is a fun day full of soccer. The players will play at least 3 games and all the action is limited to Saturday, nothing on Sunday. And everything is still here in town.
SCHEDULE
**NOTE** All practices and games for the Wilmington Island Micro will be held on Wilmington Island. The only time you’ll have to leave the island is for the end of the season tournament. The Micro Program schedule is very simple. The players will practice 1x a week, and times vary from team to team and coach to coach. During Registration we give you the option of letting us know what works for you, and then we do our best to accommodate those requests (teammate preference, coach preference, practice day preference). That way you don’t have to move your entire schedule around based on what we tell you. Games will be on Saturday’s. Once you register you will get a bit more information about the schedule and how it all works.
