2011 Athens United FinaleSCFC Celtic 02/03During the week of December 10th and 11th, Savannah Celtic FC took a Select U9 team to Athens, GA for the 2011 Athens Finale. The Select U9 team consists of 10 players from 3 YDP teams and 2 players from a U8 SCFC recreational team. The team was slated to play a U9 bracket but ended up playing up in U10 against the #10 and #32 ranked team in GA. With 3 wins and a tie, the Select U9 team left the tournament as Champions! |

2011 James Island CupSCFC Celtic 01/02 GreenSavannah Celtic’s 01/02 Green YDP team traveled to James Island, SC for the James Island Cup and came away with 4 wins. With a combined score of 28-10 in the 4 games, the boys had little trouble finding the back of the net. Their opponents included a team from NC, Summerville, SC, and Atlanta, GA. |

With a combined score of 15-7 in the 5 games, Celtic had plenty of gritty wins. They formed quite the rivalry by playing the same team in group play, and then again in the finals. |

2011 James Island CupSCFC Celtic 97/98 GreenThe SCFC Celtic 97/98 Green came to James Island, saw the competition, conquered them all and emerged victorious. The teams were from Savannah, James Island and Myrtle Beach. A total of 4 games were played and the team finished with a record of 2 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses; the combined score was 7 – 1. As it has been all season, the defensive effort was outstanding as only 1 goal was allowed and 3 matches had clean sheets. The final was a repeat encounter against the host club’s Pumas team and was controlled from the outset by the Celtic in a 3-0 victory. The boys capped off a great weekend by presenting their championship trophy to SCFC Club Director Keith Gunn for display at Celtic headquarters. |
